Description

The Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) has completed its review of the complaint filed by Glen Morgan on April 11, 2018. The complaint alleged that Karen Valenzuela may have violated RCW 42.17A.430 by failing to properly dispose of surplus funds, and RCW 42.17A.240 by failing to report the dispersal of surplus funds.

Based on our findings, staff has determined that in this instance, the failure to timely and accurately file her Surplus Funds Account reports does not appear to be an actual material violation warranting further investigation. However, staff is reminding Karen Valenzuela about the importance of timely and accurately filing Surplus Funds Account reports, should she have such a fund in future years.

Based on this information, the PDC has dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1), and will not be conducting a more formal investigation into the complaint or pursuing enforcement action in this case.
