Description

The complaint alleged Joseph Jensen, a 2021 candidate for Lake Stevens City Council, Position 7, violated RCW 42.17A.240 by failing to timely and accurately report contributions and expenditures on Monetary Contributions (C-3) and Full Summary Contributions and Expenditures (C-4), specifically failing to disclose an in-kind contribution or expenditure for "Social Purpose Corporation" registration filed with SOS under "People for Joseph.”

On October 13, 2021, Jensen updated the C-4 report originally filed June 7, 2021, adding a May 11, 2021 in-kind contribution from Joseph H. Jensen. The $200 expenditure is described as “WA Secretary of State Incorporation Filing fee.” 

Based on these findings, the fact Jensen is a first-time candidate and took prompt action to comply, PDC staff has determined that, in this instance, the failure to timely and accurately report contributions and expenditures does not amount to a violation warranting further investigation.

PDC staff is reminding Joseph Jensen about the importance of timely and accurately filing required reports in accordance with PDC laws and rules. 

Based on this information, the PDC finds that no further action is warranted and has dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
