State sues Tougher to Raise Taxes - VWMC, a political committee; Tim Eyman, Jack Fagan, Mike Fagan, in their capacity as officers of Tougher to Raise Taxes  VWMC; and Barbara Smith, in her capacity as treasurer of Tougher to Raise Taxes - VWMC for failure to timely and properly report in-kind contributions and improperly repaying loans to Defendant Eyman, Mark Needham, Clyde Holland, and Kenneth Fisher .

State sued 2/3rds For Taxes Constitutional Amendment, a political committee; Tim Eyman, Jack Fagan, Mike Fagan, in their capacity as officers of 2/3rds-For Taxes Constitutional Amendment; and Barbara Smith, in her capacity as treasurer of 2/3rds-For Taxes Constitutional Amendment for failure to properly report contributions and expenditures.

State v. Economic Development Board for Tacoma-Pierce Co, et al.

Pierce Co Superior Court

No. 16-2-10303-6

State sued Economic Development Board (EDB), Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber (Chamber), John Wolfe, Executive Officer for Port of Tacoma and Port Commissioners alleging that the EDB and the Chamber failed to properly report independent expenditures made in opposition to certain ballot propositions and alleging that the Port Commissioners used public facilities in opposition to certain ballot propositions.

 

State v. Grocery Manufacturers Assn

Thurston Co Superior Court

No. 13-2-01256-8

State sued GMA for failure to register its campaign fund as a political committee, failure to file disclosure reports showing contributions and expenditures, and concealment.

Trial completed.  Decision anticipated by September 30, 2016.

State v. Family PAC

Thurston Co Superior Court

No. 14-2-02132-9

State sued Family PAC for failure to properly and timely disclose receipt of contributions, including in-kind contributions of legal services. Case stayed.

State v. Food Democracy Action!, Food Democracy Action! Yes on I-522 Committee to Label GMOs in WA

State sued FDA and FDA PAC for failure to register its campaign fund as a political committee and failure to file disclosure reports showing contributions and expenditures. September 19, 2016

State of Washington v. Evergreen Freedom Foundation d/b/a Freedom Foundation

Thurston Co Superior Court 

No. 15-2-01936-5

State sued Freedom Foundation for failure to properly and timely report independent expenditures made in support of local ballot propositions in the cities of Sequim, Shelton and Chelan

Dismissed. 

State appealed directly to the Supreme Court. Awaiting Supreme Court decision on direct appeal.

State of Washington v. State Labor Council

No. 16-2-00484-34

State sued Washington State Labor Council for its failure to properly and timely report cash and in-contributions made by WSLC as a lobbyist employer and received by state state political committees. Settled September 23, 2016.
