Overdue notices sent for candidates who missed July 14 pre-primary expenditure reporting deadline

July 17, 2026

The Public Disclosure Commission sent overdue notices to 30 candidates this week who appeared to have missed the July 14 deadline for mandatory pre-primary spending reports.

State law requires candidates and committees who are participating in the primary election and registered as full reporters (required for those who raise and spend more than $7,000) to file expenditure (C-4) reports 21- and 7-days prior to the general election and on the 10th day of the month following the election regardless of how much financial activity the campaign had.

The pre-primary report due on July 14 covered campaign spending during the period between June 1 and July 13. The 7-day pre-primary report is due on July 28, and the post-election report is due on Sept. 10. The PDC maintains a list of filing deadlines and other reporting resources on its website.

On July 15, the following candidates received notices of possible non-compliance for not filing their post-general election expenditure reports by the deadline.

Campaigns that fail to file mandatory reports will be subject to enforcement action. Improving compliance with mandatory expenditure reporting deadlines is one of the Commission’s strategic goals.
