This complaint was filed with the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) on January 30, 2018. The complaint alleged that Thomas Dent, an incumbent State Representative and a candidate seeking re-election to that office in 2018, violated RCW 42.17A.235 and .240 by failing to file the Monetary Contributions reports (C-3 reports) and Summary Full Campaign Contribution and Expenditure reports (C-4 reports).
PDC staff reviewed the allegations in light of PDC laws and rules to determine whether a formal investigation or enforcement action is warranted. Staff reviewed the Monetary Contribution reports (C-3 reports), and Summary Full Campaign Contribution and Expenditure reports (C-4 reports), filed by the Thomas Dent Campaign and the July 20, 2018 response letter from Thomas Dent.
Staff found that Mr. Dent filed one C-4 and four C-3 reports late. Although the four reports were late, staff found no evidence of a material violation that would require conducting a more formal investigation or pursuing enforcement action.
Case dismissed with a reminder letter.
