Resolved by Attorney General – Violation

On June 2, 2016, a Citizen Action Letter 45-day letter (Complaint) was filed with the Washington State Attorney General's Office (AG’s Office) on June 2, 2016, by Jaxon Ravens with the Washington State Democratic Central Committee alleging that Kim Wyman, incumbent Secretary of State and a candidate for re-election to that office in 2016, violated RCW 42.17A.235 by failing to timely file Monetary Contribution reports (C-3 reports) and Campaign Summary Contribution and Expenditure reports (C-4 reports).

On June 14, 2016, the AG’s Office sent a letter to Evelyn Fielding Lopez, PDC Executive Director concerning the June 2, 2016 Complaint filed against Kim Wyman, and requesting that PDC staff review and investigate the allegations listed in the Complaint.

On July 8, 2016, at a special Commission meeting, the Commission found apparent violations of RCW 42.17A.235 and RCW 42.17A.240 the 2016 Citizens for Kim Wyman and recommends that the Attorney General take appropriate action concerning the Respondents’ apparent violations.

On January 20, 2017 a stipulated agreement and judgment was entered in Thurston County Superior Court.
