The complaints alleged that Dean Johnson, a candidate seeking re-election to the office of Puyallup City Councilmember in 2019, may have violated RCW 42.17A.205 for failing to timely file a Candidate Registration (C-1 report), and RCW 42.17A.235 for failing to disclosure contributions or expenditures.
Based on staff’s review, the C-3 and C-4 reports were timely filed by the Campaign on July 10, 2018, and it appears based on the evidence provided that the C-1 was timely filed. Staff noted that the C-1 report was filed by Mr. Johnson more than 17 months prior to the 2019 general election date.
Staff has determined that in this instance, no evidence supports a finding of a material violation against Dean Johnson warranting further investigation. The PDC has closed the matter.
