Description
On August 2, 2017, the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) received a complaint alleging that Brian Sullivan, an incumbent County Councilmember for Snonohomish County in 2017, may have violated RCW 42.17A.550, .555, .565 for unauthorized solicitation and use of public facilities, funds and resources.
PDC staff reviewed the allegation, including the applicable statutes, rules and the reporting requirements and found that Mr. Sullivan did not violate the law. Mr. Sullivan contacted Representative Dunshee through official channels in his capacity as County Councilmember to request appropriations for Dawson Place, a 501(c)(3) non-profit program located in his district.
Based on this finding staff determined that, in this instance, no evidence supports a finding of a violation warranting further investigation.
Based on this information, staff dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
