Description

On November 22, 2017, the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) received a complaint alleging that the Public Schools Employees of Washington Political Fund may have violated RCW 42.17A.235 and .240 for failure to timely and accurately file contribution and expenditure reports, including the failure to properly report the purpose of expenditures, as required by WAC 390-16-037 and WAC 390-16-205.

PDC staff reviewed the allegations/complaint and noted that most of the alleged late filed contribution and expenditure reports were mostly amendments of reports that were originally filed timely. Staff also noted that the Committee filed 16 reports between one and ten days late; however, approximately 90% of the activity was reported less than a week late.

Based on the above findings staff determined that the failure to timely file a few contribution and expenditure reports did not warrant further investigation or enforcement action.

Based on this information, the PDC dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
