An enforcement hearing was held on December 7, 2017, before the Full Commission, to address PDC staff allegations that The Reagan Fund, a political committee registered with the PDC and related to the House Republican Organizational Committee, violated RCW 42.17A.235 and 42.17A.240 by failing to timely disclose $84,640 in expenditures for contributions to political party organizations and political committees and expenditures for political advertising, surveys and research, and get-out-the-vote telephone calls on the 2016 Post-Primary election C-4 report.
At the December 7, 2017 enforcement hearing, the Commission voted 5-0 to accept the Stipulation as to Facts, Violations, and Penalty between The Reagan Fund and PDC staff, in which The Reagan Fund acknowledged violating RCW 42.17A.235.
The Reagan Fund was assessed a total civil penalty of $4,000, of which $2,000 was suspended on the conditions that: (1) the $2,000 non-suspended portion of the penalty is paid within 30 days of the entry of the Final Order; (2) The Reagan Fund commits no violations of RCW 42.17A or WAC 390 for four years from the date of the Order; and (3) The Reagan Fund is required to amend its 2017 C-4 reports to accurately reflect the assets and expenditures of the political committee.
