Description
The Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) has completed its review of the complaint filed on October 22, 2020. The complaint alleged that Perry Dozier, a candidate for State Senate, Legislative District 16, in the November 3, 2020 general election, may have violated RCW 42.17A.320 for failure to use sufficient font size to identify party preference on yard signs advertising his campaign.
PDC staff reviewed the allegations; the applicable statutes, rules, and reporting requirements; and the response provided by Perry Dozier (the “Respondent”), to determine whether the record supports a finding of one or more violations.
It appears that, although the party preference on Mr. Dozier’s yard signs advertising his 2020 State Senate campaign may have been difficult for some members of the public, including the Complainant, to easily read from the road, the signs printed and distributed by Mr. Dozier, did include lettering that is compliant with PDC laws and rules.
Based on our findings staff has determined that, in this instance, no evidence supports a finding of a violation that warrants further investigation.
Based on this information, the PDC finds that no further action is warranted and has dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
