Description

The complaint alleged Voice of Tahoma Education, a full reporting ballot proposition committee supporting the Tahoma School District levy in the 2024 April special election, may have violated RCW 42.17A.235 and .240 for failure to timely and accurately file contribution and expenditure reports, specifically failing to timely file the 21-day pre-election C-4 report prior to the April 2024 Special Election.

Voice of Tahoma Education filed the 21-day pre-election C-4 report April 4, 2024, prior to receiving the complaint from PDC Staff. The report was filed two days late and 19 days prior to the election.

Based on our findings, staff has determined that, in this instance, failure to timely file the C-4 report does not amount to a violation that warrants further investigation.

Voice of Tahoma Education made a minor or ministerial error, which did not materially impact the public interest. Before notification of the error, and before requested by staff, Voice of Tahoma Education filed the report.

Based on this information, the PDC finds that no further action is warranted and has dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
