Description

The Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) completed its review of the complaint filed by Conner Edwards (the “Complainant”) on August 15, 2024. The complaint alleged that Seattle Democratic Socialists of America (the “Respondent”) violated RCW 42.17A.205, .235 and .240 by failing to register and report as a political committee. As evidence, the Complainant provided a list of in-kind contributions the Respondent made to a local ballot measure committee in 2023 and 2024 for election year 2024.

Based on the attached findings, the Seattle Democratic Socialists of America signed a Statement of Understanding (SOU) on November 9, 2025 and paid a $450 civil penalty on November 10, 2025 in accordance with WAC 390-37-143 (Brief Enforcement Penalty Schedule), acknowledging violations of RCW 42.17A.205, .235 and .240 for failing to timely register and report as a political committee in years 2023-2025. The $450 penalty assessed resolves the allegations listed in the complaint.

Based on this information, the PDC has dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
