Description

On August 31, 2023, the Public Disclosure Commission received a complaint alleging that Kaur Satwinder (Respondent), a candidate for City Council Member in the City of Kent and State Representative in the 47th Legislative District, may have violated RCW 42.17A.235 and .240 in the 2017 election year by failing to file timely and contribution and expenditure reports and RCW 42.17A.490 in the 2020 election year, for using contributions for a different office without donors’ permission.

PDC staff reviewed the allegations/complaint and determined that the Respondent failed to timely file some contribution and expenditures reports in a timely manner. While a few reports were late, most of the reports were either a few days late, had zero activity or had a $50 activity or less.

Based on the staff’s review of the pertinent materials, this complaint was resolved through a formal warning letter to the Respondent.

Accordingly, the PDC dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
