On October 20, 2023, the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) received a complaint alleging that the Respondent in this matter may have violated RCW 42.17A.320 by failing to include or disclose complete sponsor Identification language on political advertising.
Staff's review found that the Respondent's Campaign created and presented campaign political advertising(s) to the public that failed to include sponsor identification language required by the statute - “Paid for by" or “Sponsored by,” including name and full address of the sponsor.
Staff issued a formal written warning to the Respondent for failure to include sponsor identification language on political advertisement and informed him the Commission would consider the formal written warning in deciding on further Commission action if there are future violations of the PDC laws/rules.
Based on this information, PDC staff dismissed the complaint in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
