Description

The complaint alleged the Cascade Political Action Committee (Cascade PAC), a Continuing Political Committee, may have violated RCW 42.17A.420 by accepting an over-limit contribution within 21 days of an election.

Non-compliance appears to be the result of an error that Cascade PAC corrected within two business days of being notified by the PDC. Based on our findings, staff has determined that, in this instance, failure to timely report the expenditure for the filing fee report does not amount to a violation that warrants further investigation. Cascade PAC made a ministerial error, which did not materially impact the public interest.

Based on this information, the matter is resolved as a technical correction pursuant to RCW 42.17A.755 and WAC 390-37-060. The PDC finds that no further action is warranted and has dismissed this matter in accordance with RCW 42.17A.755(1).
