(45-Day Citizen Action Complaint)

Karstetter, Jared: PDC Case 8642 |On September 7, 2016, a 45-Day Citizen Action Letter (Complaint) was filed with the Washington State Attorney General's Office (AG’s Office) by Dmitri Igliztin against Jared Karstetter, former legal counsel for the King County Corrections Guild alleging violations of the following:

  • RCW 42.17A.435 by concealing contributions made from the King County Corrections Guild to candidates for public office between 2012 through 2015, and identifying himself as the source of the funds used to make the contributions.
  • RCW 42.17.460 by earmarking contributions received from the King County Corrections Guild to candidates for public office, but attributing those contributions as having been made by him personally.
  • RCW 42.17A.470 by being an intermediary for contributions made by the King County Corrections Guild.
  • RCW 42.17A.485 by being reimbursed by the King County Corrections Guild for contributions that he initially made to candidates using his personal funds.

On October 5, 2016, the AG’s Office sent a letter to Evelyn Fielding Lopez, PDC Executive Director, referring the September 7, 2016, Complaint filed against Jared Karstetter to the PDC, and requesting that the PDC review and assess the allegations, and then make recommendations to the Attorney General.

Possible Executive Session

Discussion of matters allowed in executive session pursuant to RCW 42.30.110, including but not limited to discussion, pending and potential litigation with legal counsel. Possible action regarding pending litigation, or other matters properly discussed during executive session, will be taken following the executive session.
