 On Jan. 1, the Public Disclosure Commission’s statutory citations will switch from RCW 42.17A to RCW 29B. 

This change does not affect the substance of the law, only its organization within the Revised Code of Washington. The new chapter is available online here.

The Public Disclosure Commission has increased the base penalties for violations of political disclosure law, effective today, Nov. 5.

The Commission unanimously approved the rule change at its July 24 meeting, which increases recommended penalty ranges for many types of violations.

On July 30, the Washington Public Commission will launch an online reporting system for L-3c reports, or reports of contributions made by lobbyist employers.
